COMUNICACION FEB El Khimki, entrenado por Sergio Scariolo y que cuenta en sus filas con los internacionales Raúl López y Carlos Cabezas, abrirá mañana jueves –a las cuatro de la tarde hora peninsular española, dos horas más en Moscú- la jornada de semifinales enfrentándose al Unics Kazan. En las filas del Khimki debutará el escolta norteamericano Ricky Minard. Otro puesto en la final estará en juego en el partido que a continuación disputarán CSKA y Spartak. La final se jugará el viernes 19 de marzo. Scariolo opina que la Copa Rusa “es una competición importante”, aunque no tanto como la Copa del Rey en España, “que no es comparable a nada”. “Estamos llevando a cabo una temporada muy buena, tanto en Euroliga como en liga, y hemos conseguido meternos en esta final a cuatro”, subraya. El técnico reconoce que en Rusia existe “una gran diferencia entre el CSKA y el resto de los equipos a todos los niveles”, pero en esta competición “se reduce su margen de ventaja y los otros tres equipos pueden aspirar a arrebatarle título, como ya ha ocurrido más de una vez”. Scariolo recuerda que en Rusia “el éxito sólo se consigue llegando a la final” y que la situación en la que su equipo llega a esta competición no es nueva para él, ya que “nunca, salvo este verano con la Selección, he tenido un equipo que funcionando bien pudiera aspirar a ser primero”. El CSKA es el gran favorito para disputar la final del viernes pero el Khimki, tal como asegura su entrenador deberá centrarse antes en el Unics Kazan, “un equipo muy fuerte que va justo por detrás de nosotros en la liga, y que nos pondrá las cosas muy complicadas” . La liga rusa de baloncesto abre un paréntesis esta semana y deja paso a la Final Four de la Copa Rusa, que se juega en formato de eliminatorias directas. La pista del todopoderoso CSKA de Moscú (Universal Sport Hall CSKA) acogerá el evento el jueves 18 de marzo y el viernes 19. Además del equipo anfitrión, los aspirantes al trofeo copero que se ganaron su pase a la Final Four son el Khimki, Unics Kazan y Spartak San Petersburgo.
